Dear Manuel L. Real Community,

As the Principal at Manuel L. Real Elementary, I would like to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year! As you are aware, on Friday, July 17th, Governor Newsom released guidance for schools to reopen for the 2020-21 school year.  Due to the guidance criteria, all schools (public, private and charter) within Riverside County schools will not be permitted to return to school in a traditional manner.  Val Verde Unified School District will be starting the 2020-21 school year on a full distance-learning model until October 30th, after that time the school board will determine based on state guidelines on how to move forward.

In the coming day(s) you will receive important information that you will need to ensure a successful start to the 2020-21 school year.  Please login to your Aeries account to ensure your contact information is correct so you can access these important messages.  Manuel L. Real will be encouraging you to do all registration online for returning students starting on Monday July 27, 2020.  This will help keep our students, parents, staff and families safe adhering to the best social distancing practices.  VVUSD recognizes that it is through partnerships and collaboration that it will be able to best serve its students and overcome the significant challenges we are experiencing as a result of COVID-19. I thank you for your patience and resilience as we work together as a community to support our students with their continued education during this pandemic.

Dear MLRES families

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Principal of Manuel L. Real Elementary. I am honored to have been selected by the school committee as well as the Val Verde Unified School District leadership.

I am very excited to join the MLRES team and eager to contribute to the education and success of our students. With over ten years of experience in the field of education serving as an elementary and high school teacher as well as a professor in higher education, I am confident that I can use my knowledge and skills to enhance the great work happening at MLRES. With five years of school administration experience, I know that with your support, we can achieve much more collaboratively than I would otherwise.

I am certain that collectively, with your continued support and with the MLRES staff's preparation, dedication and expertise, we can take our students to achieve new heights in excellence and academics.

I believe that good schools achieve success because they have great teachers that are focused and are committed to the community they serve. Great schools have these great teachers and have one more component, their communities/parents are involved in the learning of their children. I would like to encourage you all to talk to us to find out more about what you can do to get involved and collectively turn Manuel L. Real Elementary into a great school!
